MURFREESBORO, NC – Alan Dale Phillips, age 66, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at his home.
Mr. Phillips was born on February 21, 1954 to O.M. and Dorothy Elliott Phillips in Mullins, SC. Alan was married to the love of his life, Janice, for 47 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He spent the last fourteen years as owner and operator of Alan’s Car Care and Exhaust, Inc. in Murfreesboro. He was a devoted member of New Vision Ministries where he served as deacon and was the Wednesday Night Children’s Ministries Assistant. Alan enjoyed woodworking and was very skilled in the art. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Phillips.
Alan is survived by his wife Janice, two sons, Heath Phillips and wife Wanda of Winterville, Brandon Phillips and wife Dena of Winterville; two grandsons, Cole and Chase Phillips; and granddaughter, Allie Phillips.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro and other times at the home.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 11:00 am at the New Vision Ministries, Murfreesboro, with Pastor Sandy Outlaw officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Murfreesboro, NC.
