Albert Pettie “Pop” Knox, 88, died Wednesday, May 18, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at the Victory Praise and Worship Center in Scotland Neck. The Reverend Jay Weaver and the Reverend Aubrey Spear will be presiding.
Pop was born on December 18, 1922 in Buffalo, NY and was a World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved his church and spent many hours performing magic and making balloon animals for children. Pop loved his community and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leila Millicent Knox.
Pop is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Jean Hasting of Scotland Neck and LuAnn M. Kurtz and husband John of Santan Valley, AZ; son, James Lee Moungie of San Diego, CA; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
