Alden (Tritt) Pearce, age 72, went home to be with his Lord on May 9, 2015.

Mr. Pearce was born on December 30, 1942, in Mars Hill, Bertie County, NC, a son of the late Sam and Lillie Pearce. He was retired after 20 years of service working at Berkley Machine Shop in Norfolk, VA. After retirement, Tritt enjoyed traveling, fishing and “junking”.

Besides his parents, Tritt was preceded in death by his brothers, JT, Jelette, Harvey, Sam and Clyde Pearce; and his beloved dog, Bridgett.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 41 years, Chris Allen Pearce of Lynchburg, VA; his daughter, Tammy Hardison (Joey) of Smithfield, VA; his son, Danny Clarke (Edie) of Goode, VA; a grandson, his “little buddy”, Blake; granddaughters, Amber, Jennifer, Jessica, Krystina, Taylore, and Madisyn and great grandchildren, Kyra, Alaina, and Kelton. He is also survived by his sisters, Harriett White, and Bessie Mitchell; and brothers, Ed and Bike Pearce; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, followed by a graveside service at Ahoskie Cemetery. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm on May 12, 2105, at Wayside Baptist Church, 712 Canal Drive, Chesapeake VA, followed immediately by a visitation with the family in the church fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayside Baptist Church, Building Fund, or the Gideon Society.

Garrett Sykes Funeral Service Ahoskie Chapel is handling the arrangements for the Pearce family and online condolences can be directed to the family by visiting www.garrettsykesfs.com.
