KELFORD-Allen Wayne Vaughan, 80, of Kelford, NC, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2020 at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on November 15, 1939 to the late James and Stella Barnes Vaughan in Halifax County. Wayne started his career in the flower business by opening Vaughan’s Greenhouses in Kelford. A few years later he opened a small florist in Aulander and eventually moved his business to Ahoskie, where he was the owner of Ahoskie Florist and Greenhouse for many years. Wayne also enjoyed landscaping, working in his yard and spent a lot of time on the computer as long as health permitted. He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone that knew him.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Bennie Vincent, two sisters, Annie Vaughan and Virginia Bishop, four brothers, Randolph Vaughan, Larry Wade Vincent, Earl Vaughan, and James Vaughan, Jr.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, two daughters, Tracey Vaughan Terry and husband Phil of Aulander, and Cathy Vaughan of Durham; two granddaughters, Kelsey and Kimberly Terry both of Aulander; three brothers, Shelby Vaughan and wife Brenda of Lake Havasu City, AZ, Bennie Ray Vincent and wife Mary Lou of Ooltewah, TN, and Ronnie Vincent and wife Cecelia of Douglasville, GA.
The family will have a service at a later date.
