Ann Lawrence Thompson, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck. Interment will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery. The Reverend Doctor Allen Cherry and the Reverend Doctor James Drake will be presiding.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Ann was born on October 1, 1933 in Halifax County,NC to the late James Douglas Lawrence and Grace Locke Lawrence. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Ann worked as a Teller at the local banks in Scotland Neck and Hobgood for many years and was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Murry Leroy Thompson; and her sisters, Mary Lou Harris and Marjorie Taylor.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Emily Grace Bradshaw and husband Wayne of Rocky Mount; her sons, Lee Thompson and wife Mary Jo of Warsaw and J. Lewis Thompson and wife Nanette of Tarboro; her brother, Glenn Lawrence and wife Carolyn of Rocky Mount; her grandchildren, Tim Bradshaw and wife Emily, David Bradshaw and wife Candice, Rachel Thompson Wells and husband Lee, and Emily Thompson; and her great-granddaughter, Katelyn Bradshaw.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck.
