Aubrey Leon Rountree age 73 of the 100 Block of Taylor Rd in Harrellsville died Friday, April 15, 2011 at his home. He was born May 12, 1937 in Hertford County to the late Aubrey Luther Rountree and Ruth Lucille Lowe Rountree.
He was a member of Christian Harbor Baptist Church, a member of the Army National Guard, an avid gardner and a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Christian Harbor Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Harrellsville Cemetery. Rev. Hugh Mizelle and Rev. Mark Hall will officiate.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Mary Elizabeth Beale Rountree, daughters Annette Thompson and her husband Monte of Harrellsville and Lisa Perry and her husband Jerry of Harrellsville, a son Mike Rountree and his wife Jennifer of Lexington, three sisters, Eloise Miller of Ahoskie, Janice Crawford of York, SC and Diane George of Rock Hill, grandchildren Jason Perry, Clay Thompson, Andy Thompson, Kelsey Rountree and Collin Rountree.

Miss Mary, Annette, Lisa, Mike and family..I was saddened to see of Leon’s passing. You are and will be in my thoughts and prayers now and in the days to come. take care and God Bless you.

Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Leon’s death. Had he been sick? He was a very good man, sweet, understanding. He and I went to work on the same day at CF Industries(Farmers Chemical) August 4,1969. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him. He was wonderful man. So sorry for your lost. Love Mary
