Mrs. Barbara Ann Brown Pearce, age 58 died at her home in Aulander on Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Mrs. Pearce was a native of Bertie County and born to the late Hazel Weathersbee Brown and Jimmy Norfleet Brown, Sr. She graduated from Lawrence Academy and then attended Roanoke Chowan Community College earning a Degree in Cosmetology. Mrs. Pearce worked for thirty years with Ruth’s Beauty Shop in Ahoskie, NC. She was married to Mike Pearce in April of 1979 and to this marriage was born one daughter. Mrs. Pearce was a member of the Higher Ground Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ahoskie, NC. She was very involved with the church for many years, playing the piano, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school and loving her Lord. She deeply loved her family and held them very close in her heart. She was a friend to everyone who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband Mike Pearce of the home, one daughter, Sharon P. Kelly and her husband Mitch of Murfreesboro, NC, one sister, Vicki Collier and her husband Richard of Enfield, NC, two brothers, Jimmy Norfleet Brown, Jr. and Joseph Brown and his wife Anita Harrell Brown of Ahoskie, NC.

Barbara – you were such a lovely, sweet woman…look for my mom & dad in heaven, I know ya’ll will be great friends…
And try not to worry about Sharon…we know we can never take your place in her life, but we love her like she was one of our own and we promise to take good care of her.
