Prayers for Bobby and his family. I just found out about Barbara’s death this morning otherwise I would have been at her service. Your Mom was always a fun-loving and beautiful woman. I know she will be missed!

Where do I begin. I worked with Barbara for 28 years at DSS and we became more than boss and coworker over the course of years. We had so much in common in our dress and things we liked. She was the age of my mother but was more like a mother and a sister to me over the course of years we knew each other. We had many other things in common as we all have life’s trials and hard times. Barbara never wore her feeling on her sleeve but always kept it together even in the hard times, she made me a better woman because of the bond we had in so many ways. I will greatly miss her, I hated when she retired and went home as she was truly a servant of our county in serving her citizens and she touched so many lives over the course of her years at DSS and was truly missed by many when she left. We will not celebrate your birthday in a restaurant this year but you will be celebrating in a greater place , save room for me at your table. I will always remember and love you for the person you were and the times we shared. Rest in peace now my friend until we meet again.

Barbara was one of the kindest people I have ever known. We worked together for ten years at Hertford County DSS. I have many fond memories of her and the DSS Family there. She helped many people over the years. Sending prayers to Bobby, Hannah, Steve, Benjamin and all her extended family. You should be proud of a life well lived and a woman well loved. I am proud to have called her my friend.
