KINSTON, NC – Barbara Jean Turner, 78, formerly of Conway, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Harmony Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kinston, North Carolina

Mrs. Turner was born on February 16, 1944 to Johnny Johnson and Sally Bet Baugham Johnson in Southhampton County, VA. Barbara worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years. She loved going to church when she was able. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, because it was spent with the ones she loved dearly. She enjoyed doing search puzzles and listening to her favorite singer Elvis Presley. Barbara was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Bryant, a son, Joseph Bryant, sisters; Claire Belle Turner, Nellie “Frog” Mae Faison, and Gladys Casper, brothers; Buddy Johnson, and John “Cheeteh” Johnson.

Barbara is survived by two daughters, Deborah Banks of Greenville, NC, and Crystal Ingalls of Chocowinity, NC; one son, Walter “Bubba” Bryant and wife Donna of Greenville, NC; five grandsons, William “Billy” Bryant of Greenville, NC, Thomas “Tommy” Bryant and wife April of Tarboro, NC, George “Tony” Bryant and wife Sharon of Barco, NC, Shane Donnelly of Greenville, NC, and Dusty Bryant of Marion, VA; two granddaughters, Amanda Wells and husband Philip of Greenville, NC, and Amber Toften and husband Kobe of Washington, NC; two sisters, Shirley “Red” Johnson of Pendleton, NC, and Betty Hoell of Greenville, NC; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Dr. J Brabban, officiating.

When I met her in 1980, she was introduced to me as Blondie. I loved her from the first minute I met her until she left her earthly walk to join JESUS. Please pray for each of her family members and loved ones because they lost someone whom they loved. Until we meet again Blondie.
