AHOSKIE, NC – Barbara Sawyer Lossen, age 73, of Ahoskie-Cofield Road, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.
Mrs. Lossen was born on August 18, 1947 in Murfreesboro, NC. Barbara was an LPN and enjoyed taking care of people in need. She married the love of her life in 1964 and to this marriage was born two children. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She loved her fur babies as well. Barbara was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Barry Sawyer.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Thomas: son, Thomas Lossen, Jr. of Portland, OR; daughter, Sandra Epperson and husband Tony of Ahoskie; two sisters, Beverly Dunlow and husband Gary of Wilmington, NC, Diane Holloman and husband Jimmie of Eure, NC; and brother, Kirk Sawyer of NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Per Barbara’s wishes, a private celebration of life graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021, with her family at the Highland Memorial Gardens, Ahoskie, NC.

I had the pleasure of working with Barbara at Northampton Nursing in Jackson NC. She was a very sweet woman and I enjoyed working with her.
