Benjamin Saxon “Ben” Askew of Enfield, age 57, passed away on September 21, 2018 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

Ben was born on October 29, 1960 to Kesler and Ramona Askew. He grew up and made his home in Enfield. Ben was a lifelong member of Enfield Baptist Church and graduated from Enfield Academy in 1979. His work career consisted of employment with Enfield Home Supply, Pier Point, Fox Mobile Home, Javalu Farms and Safelite Glass Company. He enjoyed delivering meals for Meals On Wheels and did so for a number of years. Ben had a huge heart and loved helping people around the community. He was a collector and very creative.

Ben is preceded in death by his father, Kesler Askew, Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Ramona Askew and his wife, Kimberly Askew both of the home, a sister, Katy Askew of Nags Head; a brother, Tommy Askew and his wife Donna of Winterville; a niece, Magan Coats; a nephew, Carter Askew of Winterville; two great nieces, Nevaeh Tucker and Saxon Heuneman both of Kill Devil Hills; two step-daughters, Amanda Draper and Ashley Clemmons both of Roanoke Rapids.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at 3:30PM at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield with the Rev. Marc Sanders officiating.

Oh so sorry to learn of Ben’s death. Another of my EA children gone too soon. My sincere condolences to the family. You are in my thoughts & prayers today & in the coming difficult days.

You had a heart of gold. I grew up with you, having been friends with your sister, Katy. Every time I would see you, you would always hug me and we would talk. I still can not believe you are gone. You will truly be missed, my friend. Prayers and thoughts for your Mother and your family. May you Rest in Peace.
