Bessie Gail Pridgen Gee

MURFREESBORO, NC – Bessie Gail Pridgen Gee, age 47, passed away on July 2, 2022, at the Vidant Inpatient Hospice.

Gail was born in Southampton County on October 15, 1974 the daughter of James Franklin and Mary Daughtry Pridgen. Bessie worked as a Customer Service Representative for Rite Aid and helped many as a home health caregiver. She was a lifetime member of Meherrin Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher for 2- & 3-year-olds, along with her mother, for many years and sang in the church choir.

Along with her parents, Gail is survived by her brother, Billy Pridgen and wife, Dawn of Murfreesboro, NC; her special friend, George Dunn of Murfreesboro, NC; two nephews, James Lee Pridgen and wife Chelsea and William R. Pridgen Jr. and wife, Lydia of Murfreesboro, NC; a great nephew, Hunter James Pridgen; an aunt, Lillie Mae Oneal and husband, Billy of Portsmouth, VA; and an uncle, Winston Churchill Daughtry of Ahoskie, NC.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in the Meherrin Baptist Church Fellowship Hall from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm prior to the celebration of life service in the Church at 2:00 pm. with Rev. John Porter and Rev. Sandy Outlaw officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
