Betty Conner Mizelle, age 74, passed away early Friday morning, December 6, 2013, at Vidant Pitt Memorial Hospital. Betty was born in Bertie County to the late Carrie Dempsey and Vernon C. Conner on November 29, 1939. She had a great love for her family and friends. Betty loved gardening. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie M. Mizelle, a daughter, Tammy Sue Whitley, and her four brothers; J.C., William, Cohen and Linwood Conner.
She is survived by her son, Timothy K. Whitley and wife Jamie of Aulander, NC, three sisters; Barbara Jean Taylor of Woodruff, SC, Marilyn C. Daniels and her husband Jimmy of Ahoskie, NC, Elva C. Burden and husband Jack of Aulander, NC, two grandchildren, George Whitley of Conway, NC and Megan Gunnels Taylor of Cofield, NC, three great grandchildren, Mary Beth Whitley of Conway, NC, Brice Christopher Taylor of Cofield, NC and Akaya Lynn Whitley of Olive Hill, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Timmy and Jamie, I am sorry very to hear of your loss. Please know that you and all the family are in our thoughts and prayers.
