Betty Drake Howell Edwards age 92 of Seaboard died on June 26, 2017 at the Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, NC.
She was born on April 22, 1925 to the late Lloyd and Elizabeth Buffaloe Howell of Jackson. Betty was married to James Taylor Edwards, Sr. on September 11, 1948 and to this marriage was born three children.She was a member of the Seaboard United Methodist Church. Her greatest joys in life were her family and 108 East Wright Ave, KDH.
Other than her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Taylor Edwards, Sr. and brother, Robert Stancell Howell, Sr.
Betty is survived by her, two sons, Richard Steven Edwards, Sr. and his wife Maryann of Jackson, James Taylor Edwards Jr. and his wife Lynn of Seaboard and daughter, Dana Edwards Boone and her husband John of Jackson, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are special friends, Jack “Mary” Ray and Pam Brown.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Pauline Daye and the entire staff of Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends at anytime at Betty’s home in Seaboard.
Graveside services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Seaboard Cemetery in Seaboard with the Rev. Bob Rogers officiating.

Miss Betty was a very special lady and I was blessed to have known her …I was one of her nurses at the nursing home. May God guide and direct her family during this difficult time..
