MOREHEAD CITY, NC – Betty Lou Bradley Bazemore, age 87, formerly of Aulander, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the Carteret Health Care of Morehead City, NC.

Ms. Betty was born on October 24, 1933 to Worlie Edward Bradley and Irene Lassiter Bradley in Aulander, NC. She was a true Christian who loved God, her family, friends, and her church, Aulander Baptist, that she attended her entire life, even virtually when she was not able to attend in person.  She was a staple in her community where she worked for Wachovia Bank until she retired then for Southern Bank till retirement. She volunteered for the board of elections, and Aulander EMS for many years until retirement. Ms. Betty was a beautiful sole who will be sorely missed, but we know today she is in a better place walking the streets of Gold with all those who preceded her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvah Bradley, a sister, Cleo Tinkham, and her special friend, James Keel.

Betty is survived by her son, Sidney Nelson Bazemore and wife Pamela of Morehead City, NC; step-granddaughter, Haley Smith of Wilmington, NC; step-grandson, Zachary Smith of Morehead, NC; a sister, Elaine Witt and husband John of Aulander, NC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021at 2:00 at Aulander Cemetery, Aulander, NC, with Rev. Jimmy Blythe officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aulander Baptist Church, PO Box 220, Aulander, NC 27805 or online by clicking here
