Carlton Wayne Foskey, Jr.

Carlton Wayne Foskey, Jr., lovingly known as Wayne, passed away suddenly on August 20, 2023, in Ahoskie, North Carolina. He was born on May 2, 1978, also in Ahoskie. Wayne was 45 years old at the time of his passing.

Wayne had a humble yet fulfilling life. Despite being disabled, he found joy in various activities that brought him happiness. He had a deep love for music and could often be found with his headphones, immersed in the melodies that resonated with his soul. One of his greatest joys was spending quality time with his beloved daughter Carolyn. Their bond was truly special and brought immeasurable joy to Wayne’s life.

Alongside his interests in music and family, Wayne had a soft spot for animals. Whether it was playing with his furry companions or observing wildlife in nature, he cherished their presence in his life. Additionally, Wayne found solace and entertainment in playing games on his phone and browsing through his Facebook feed. He also enjoyed the serenity of fishing, finding peace in the gentle movements of the water and the anticipation of the catch.

Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Carlton Wayne Foskey, Sr.

Wayne’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of his surviving loved ones. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Jessica, and his treasured daughter, Carolyn Foskey, both of Ahoskie, NC. Wayne is also survived by his mother, Linda Hill of Ahoskie; uncle, Herman Hoggard, three caring aunts: Nancy (Therman) Hoggard of Windsor, Ruth Vann of Ahoskie, and Delores (Jimmy) Brown of Aulander. Four adoring cousins also mourn his loss: Vann (Lisa) Willoughby of Ahoskie, Frankie Willoughby, Jr. of Ahoskie, Linda (Clayton) Farmer of Ahoskie, and Marie Byrd of Ahoskie. Wayne’s grandparents, Hugh Vann and Edna Willoughby, as well as his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Dean and Donna Smith of PA, and his grandmother, Elaine Berry of FL, also mourn his passing.

The visitation for Wayne will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. A funeral service in Wayne’s honor will take place on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., also at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel. Burial will follow in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wayne’s departure has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
