AHOSKIE, NC – Carolyn Joyce Pierce Mull, age 74, of Main Street, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022 at ECU Health Medica1 Center.

Carolyn was born on April 11, 1948 to Lester M. Pierce and Myrtle Parker Pierce in Gates County, North Carolina. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Carolyn cherished her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Mercy Church for their online worship services. She retired from working as telephone operator and later an assistant, then worked many years as a secretary at East Coast Mobile Home Sales. Carolyn also enjoyed watching soap operas, working in her flowers, watching and feeding the birds. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Mull, and a brother, Lonnie Ray Pierce.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Frank Melvin Cale Jr. and wife April of Lumberton, NC; five grandchildren, Chad, Bridgitte, and Abigail Cale, Clinton, and Charlie Fisher; three sisters, Judy McGraw and husband William of Ahoskie, Arlene Knox and husband Robert of Gates, and Martha Hollowell and husband Dana of Colerain; brother, Carl Pierce and wife Laura of Ahoskie; sister-in-law, Carolyn Pierce of Ahoskie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home of her sister, Judy McGraw.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Mercy Church, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Ray Faircloth, Sr., Rev. Ray Faircloth, Jr., and brother-in-law Robert Knox officiating. Burial Will Follow in Ahoskie Cemetery, Ahoskie, NC.

Know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Though it’s hard on you, it’s easier on Carolyn, no more pain and she is home where wanted to be. She has a great life now, one that we are all striving to have.
