Mr. Carroll Ellis Bryant, age 94 of Rich Square died at the Rich Square Health Care Center in Rich Square on Wednesday, October 24, 2012. He was born February 9, 1918.

Mr. Bryant was a member of the Rich Square United Methodist Church and retired from Farm and Home Gas Company. He later brought Traylor Market which he ran for several years. Mr. Bryant was an avid gardener and loved sharing his vegetables with his friends and neighbors around the community.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Bryant, daughter Gladys Futrell and son David Bryant.

Survivors include his son, Linwood Bryant and his wife Evelyn of Rich Square, son in law, Buck Futrell also of Rich Square, seven grandchildren, Mischelle B. Hayman and her husband Todd of Kill Devil Hills, NC, Lin Bryant, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Wilson, NC, Jason Bryant of Warrenton, NC, Scott Bryant and his wife Sara of Raleigh, NC, Kathy Stiffler and her husband Greg of Apex, NC, Yvonne Lassiter and her husband Bob and Angie Lassiter and her husband Kevin all of Rich Square, NC, ten great grandchildren, Rachel, Christian, Caitlin and Casey Hayman, Eliza Bryant, Georgia Mae and Moses Bryant, Joshua and Justin Lassiter, and Kelsey Lassiter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 A.M., Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Rich Square United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Licht officiating. The burial will follow at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Rich Square, NC.

Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Rich Square is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm on Thursday evening and other times at the home of Linwood and Evelyn Bryant.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rich Square United Methodist Church, 300 N. Main Street, Rich Square, NC 27869 or to your favorite charity.
