Charlie Melba Mobley Stroud, 83, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Hobgood Cemetery in Hobgood. The Reverend Tony Bossolono will be presiding.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Melba was born on November 26, 1929 to the late Charlie Mobley and Mary Wynne Mobley. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and special friend.
Melba was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Howard Stroud.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Stroud Sweatt and husband Tom of Greensboro; her sons, Glenn Stroud and wife Debbie of Hobgood and Stewart Stroud and Tony Stroud both of Rocky Mount; her sister, Ann Jenkins of Hampton, VA; her brother, Ray Thomas of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Jessica Stroud, Brandon Stroud, T.C. Braddy, Christin Stroud, Amber Stroud, McKenzie Stroud, and Chandler Stroud; one great-granddaughter, Lillie Ryvor Braddy; and devoted family friend of “Girl”, as she called Mrs. Stroud, Sue Davis of Scotland Neck.
Arrangements are being handled by Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
