AHOSKIE, NC – Charlotte Sheffield Lee, age 82, passed away on March 21, 2020 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.

Mrs. Lee was born in Pike County, Alabama on November 12, 1937, a daughter of the late Olen and Bessie McGill Sheffield. Charlotte was the Director of Medical Records for Roanoke Chowan Hospital, for many years until her retirement. After retirement, Charlotte and husband, Darrell enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters in Alabama and going to their grandchildren’s ballgames. As with her grandchildren, Charlotte also enjoyed spending time with, and spoiling her grand dogs, feeding them from the table and feeding them ice cream from a spoon.  She was an active, faithful member of Mars Hill Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband, Darrell M. Lee, two sons, Darrick Lee and wife, Tracey of Williamston, NC, and Del Lee of Knightdale, NC; a grandson, Austin Lee of Williamston, NC, and a granddaughter, Brittany Lee of Winterville, NC; and two sisters, Sabre Hudson and husband, Hardy of Phoenix City, AL, and Brenda Holbrook and husband, Carlton of Ozark, AL.

A private graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens at 1:15 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. Greg Hurdle and Rev. Channan Brinkley, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made directly to the Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 325 Meadow Road, Colerain, NC, 27924, or you may donate online by clicking here
