AHOSKIE, NC – Christine Shook Kirk, age 57, of Ahoskie, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2023. She was born on December 23, 1965, in Long Island, New York. Christine was a beloved EMT/Paramedic for Northampton County EMS, dedicating her life to helping others in need.

Christine had a zest for life and pursued her interests with passion. She loved the thrill of mudding at Busco Beach and cherished the moments she spent taking her fur baby, Annabelle, to get her nails done. Her work as an EMT/Paramedic brought her immense fulfillment, as she found great satisfaction in providing care and support to those who required it the most. In her leisure time, Christine enjoyed shopping and cooking, showcasing her culinary skills that earned her the reputation of being an excellent cook. However, above all else, Christine found pure joy in playing with her great nieces and nephews, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by them forever.

Christine is preceded in death by her father, Gerald Shook, her mother, Geraldine Balzersen Shook, her son, Timothy Worrell, her great nephew, Waylon Prevatte . She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories for her surviving family and friends. Eric Worrell, her grandson, resides in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Her sister, Donna Mooring, of Pendleton, North Carolina, mourns her loss deeply. Christine’s nieces, Alyssa Taylor and Lindsey Prevatte, along with their husbands, Shaquille Taylor and Robert Prevatte, respectively, hold her dear to their hearts. Her great nieces, Ryder Prevatte, Izzabelle Taylor, Annalise Taylor and Madalyn Graham of Como, North Carolina, and great nephew, Le’tahj Taylor of Como, North Carolina, will forever remember the love and laughter shared with their beloved aunt.

Christine Shook Kirk will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her kind and compassionate nature, coupled with her unwavering dedication to her profession and loved ones, will forever remain etched in our hearts. May she find eternal peace and rest in the warm embrace of her heavenly abode.

A memorial service to honor Christine’s life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service of Ahoskie, North Carolina. Reverend John Porter will officiate the service, providing comfort and solace to those in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the family as they will set up a trust for Christine’s grandson, Eric Worrell, who lost his father, Timothy Worrell, in 2020 by clicking here
