AHOSKIE, NC – Clifton Thomas Joyner, age 59, of Menola-St. John Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 13, 2020 at his home.
Cliff was born on October 11, 1961 to Clifton Ray Joyner, Jr. and Catherine Colson Joyner in Ahoskie, NC. He was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend. He was always the life of the party, a real jokester. Cliff enjoyed camping, spending time at the lake, riding the golf cart, and cooking. He loved to entertain with food, fellowship, and of course a little loud music. Cliff was a sweet soul that will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by mother, Retha Catherine Colson Joyner.
Left to cherish Cliff’s memory his wife Beverly Nichols Joyner, of the home, his father, Clifton Ray Joyner, Jr. and his wife Patricia, his daughter, Taylor Joyner (Josh) of Ahoskie; two granddaughters, Leah and Rayne Smith; one grandson, Noah Smith; sister, Charlene Joyner Gray and husband Trent of Como; his brother, Jason Vinson and wife Ashley of Battleboro, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a celebration of life memorial service on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Chowan River, 338 Tuscarora Beach Road, Winton NC. Friends please see signs for parking when attending service.

Taylor, my heart breaks for you. Life without a dad is hard. The days ahead will seem empty but your heart will be full of the love he had for you.
May God give you peace that you need so badly right now. My prayers are being lifted for Beverly, Uncle Clifton and Charlene and all else who loved him.

I am so sad for your loss, Beverly and Taylor. I have great memories of Cliff cutting up and making everybody laugh. He will be missed.

I remember the first time meeting Cliff, was back in 2011 or 2012 when him n Beverly came to my house after my Son Matthew came home from the hospital. Cliff and Beverly had their hands full of goodies. Heart of Gold he was. My Family will always be grateful for Cliff. His sense of humor was great too.
