Daniel Webster Lassiter age 94 of Aulander died Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Guardian Care of Ahoskie. He was born April 20, 1916 in Hertford County to the late William Lanzy Lassiter and Ella Lassiter Lassiter.

He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation, a member of Aulander Baptist Church, was a founding member of the Aulander Fire Department and Rescue Squad serving 33 years, he was an avid hunter and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Aulander Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Aulander Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Johnson and Rev. Robbie Parker will officiate.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 75 years Goldie Bradley Lassiter of the home, a daughter Marion Dilday and her husband Robert of Powellsville, two sons, Daniel E. Lassiter and his wife Susan and Wayne Lassiter and his wife Betty all of Aulander, grandchildren; Joyce Brown and her husband Braxton, Karen Hoggard and her husband Greg, Kelly Tibbitt, Dana Lassiter and his wife Greta and Michael Wayne Lassiter and his wife Connie and six great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at the Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. Memorials may be made to the Aulander Baptist Church.
