I remember long ago when David ran a service station in Rich Square. I was about 12-13 years old and wanted to work there. David taught me many things from washing windshields to pumping gas. Then the race cars came. How I want to be like David Wallace. I remembering riding in the back of his Dodge truck to Chantilly in Roanoke Rapids many times. I made my first race at 16 years old and still race today with my two sons. David always treated me like a son, not an employee. I have many memories of David, a great person. He will be missed by many.
