AHOSKIE- David Edward “Finn” Dunn, V, age 18, of Beechwood Road, passed away far too soon on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital.

Finn was born on October 16, 2002, to David Edward and Joanna Warren Dunn in Raleigh, NC. A graduate of the Ridgecroft class of 2021, Finn was an avid baseball player and a member of the Winton Fire Department. He was a member of the Meherrin Baptist Church, where he was proudly baptized along-side his father, David. Finn loved to go hunting with his dad and his buddies, and he never missed an opportunity to go to the beach. With plans to attend Pitt Community College in the fall, Finn was ready to take on the world with his outgoing personality. His mom often joked that he was so hard-headed, but she would also tell you that he was the sweetest, most kind-hearted, and polite person you could ever meet.  Finn was dearly loved by his family and especially loved being Uncle Funk to his precious nephew Case. He will be missed by his family, friends and everyone who knew him.

Finn was preceded in death by his father, David Edward Dunn, IV, his maternal grandfather, G. Winston Warren, Sr., his paternal grandfather, David Edward “Buck” Dunn, III, and his step-grandfather Charles R. Williams Sr., affectionately known as “Big R”.

Left to cherish Finn’s memory is his mother, Joanna; sister, Chloe Dunn Eure and husband Carter of Harrellsville; maternal grandmother, June B. Warren of Murfreesboro; paternal grandmother, Joan Elizabeth “Libby” Williams; maternal great grandmother, Martha “Wilbur” Williams of Laurenburg, NC; nephew, Carter Stallings “Case” Eure of Harrellsville; aunt Cyndi Chamblee and husband Chris of Ahoskie; uncle Chip Warren Jr. and wife Kristin of Windsor, cousins; Baron, Sawyer and Kate Chamblee, Winston and Eloise Warren, and Wood Williams, as well as many family and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, 11:00 am at the Ridgecroft School gymnasium, Ahoskie, NC, with Rev. John Porter and Rev. Dr. Paul R. Gilliam III, officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Murfreesboro, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Winton Fire Department, PO Box 436, Winton, NC 27986, or online by clicking here Ridgecroft School, 420 NC-11, Ahoskie, NC 27910, or online by clicking here. The family ask that you always cherish your family, hug your children and tell them you love them every day.
