AULANDER, NC – Deanna Gwen Hurdle Terry, age 54, passed away on February 21, 2017 at the Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital of Ahoskie, NC.
Deanna was born on July 3, 1962 to Alfred and Elizabeth Warrick Hurdle in Ahoskie, NC. She was a graduate of Ahoskie High School. Deanna enjoyed cooking in her earlier years. She loved her dog Dixie very much. Deanna was gentle person and a loving daughter, wife, sister, and aunt. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Deanna was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth June Warrick.
Deanna is survived by her husband, Jeff; father, Alfred Earl Hurdle; three sisters, Sonya Leake and husband Jim of Winterville, NC, Judy Farmer and husband Danny, and Paula Hurdle; brother, Earl Hurdle and wife Sherry; father-in-law, Robert Terry; mother-in-law, Lavern Terry; brother-in-law, Jack Terry and wife Denise; sister-in-law, Tina Harrell and husband Linwood, all of Aulander, NC. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Aulander Cemetery, Aulander, NC, with the Rev. Greg Hurdle, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Deanna was such a joy. Sweet smile and laugh. She was very smart. She has a great family that loves her dearly! I will always remember her as a friend and great neighbor. God bless her and all the family.
Sorry for your loss. Deanna was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Always quiet , she had a beautiful smile. I remember riding the bus and going to school with Deanna. She never bothered anyone. Prayers for all of the family!
