Diane “Mossey” Johnson White, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at the age of 55. She was born on March 22, 1968, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to her late father Clarence “Mickey” Johnson and her mother, Elsie Thomas Johnson.
Mossey was a dedicated individual who served her community as an accountant with the Town of Windsor for many years. Her meticulousness and dedication to her work made her an integral part of the community, earning her the reputation of being the glue that kept the town together. Outside of her professional pursuits, Mossey found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a great love for fishing and spending time with her animals, especially her dogs. However, her top priority in life was her grandbabies, whose presence brought tremendous joy and happiness into her world. Mossey also found solace in nature, enjoying camping trips and exploring the beauty of the mountains. With her passion for woodworking, she demonstrated her creativity and talent, tackling any task that came about in her home. A simple lady, Mossey always remained strong for others, being a pillar of support for her loved ones.
Mossey is preceded in death by her father, Clarence “Mickey” Johnson, who held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by her surviving family and friends, including her dear son, Brandon Ambrose (Olivia) of Aulander; her mother, Elsie Thomas Johnson of Askewsville; three grandsons, Sean Gell of Aulander, Braiden Ambrose of Windsor, and Bradley Ray Ambrose of Aulander; a granddaughter named Aubreigh Ambrose of Aulander; two brothers, Jerry Johnson, and Timmy Johnson, both of Askewsville; and a sister, Rose Henry (Lynn) of South Port.
Services to honor and remember Diane will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, NC. Friends and family are invited to gather together, sharing cherished memories and providing comfort to one another during this difficult time. The caring professionals at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Ahoskie Chapel are handling the arrangements for the White family.
