AULANDER – Dorina Mae Willoughby Brown, 63, of the 100 block of Ray Farmer Road, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Roanoke Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Brown was born in Hertford County, a daughter of Edna Parks Willoughby and the late Hugh Van Willoughby, and attended St. Johns Baptist Church. She was a cashier for Duck-Thru Convenience Stores for 16 years.
Dorina is survived by her husband, William W. Brown Jr.; her mother, Edna P. Willoughby of Windsor, NC; two daughters, Deborah Annette Wiggins of Rich Square, NC, and Lisa Hicks of Chapel Hill, TN; three sons, Earl Wayne Terry of Bear Grass, NC, Paul Christopher Terry of Aulander, and Hugh Van Terry of Alabama; sisters, Faye Surles, Nancy Hoggard and Linda Sue Hill, all of Windsor, NC; a brother, Frankie Willoughby of Ahoskie; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Besides her father, she was predeceased by a son, John Malcolm, and a sister, Ann Broglin.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in the Ashley Memorial Chapel of Garrett-Jones Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Thompson and Rev. Brian Hill officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, and other times at the home. My mother is the greatest woman I have ever known…if I can be half the mother to her grandchildren that she was to me..I know that my children will be truely blessed…
