Dorothy Eason Bland age 84 of Colerain died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She was born May 28, 1926 in Halifax County to the late William Eason and Jenny Carter Eason. She was the wife of the late Thurston Daniel Bland.
She was a homemaker, attended Colerain Methodist Church, was a devoted Mother and Grandmother and was a devoted Christian.
A Graveside service will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Harrellsville Cemetery. Rev Walter Johnson will officiate.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rhonda Bland Worrell and her husband William Donald and Cynthia Dean Bland both of Colerain, sisters Mary Moore and Ruby Wise both of Roanoke Rapids and Dolly Denver of Kentucky, a brother William Eason of Roanoke Rapids and a grandson Eric Worrell of Colerain.
Dear Rhonda, Donald and Mike, we share in the sorrow of your loss. I believe we met your mother in Windsor in 2008 and am reminded of the sweet spirit all those Colerain UMC women were. God bless you with a special time of memories that bring you joy deep in your soul.
