RICH SQUARE, NC – Edith Marie Cone Lassiter, age 77, of Highway 305, passed away on Saturday evening, March 7, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Edith was born on June 23, 1942 to Linwood Cone and Susan Carlisle Cone in Franklin County, NC. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved her husband and was always by his side and supported him in all he did. Edith enjoyed being a part of Lassiter Car Sales as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed upholstery work, fishing, going to car sales, racing, camping, and many other adventures as long as she was with Charles. Edith was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Jimmy, Rudy, Michael “ML”, and Ralph Cone, and sisters, Alice Cone, Janice Cone, Vivian Vaughan, and Gladys Vaughan.
Edith is survived by her loving husband Charles, three sons, Charles Lassiter Jr. and wife Ginger of Rich Square, Linwood Lassiter and wife Lisa of Rich Square, and Ricky Lassiter of Jackson; grandchildren, James Lassiter, Mindy Lassiter, Kayla Ricks, and Tina Lassiter; great-grandchildren, Maci Ricks, Cheyanne Ricks, and Aiden Lassiter; two sisters, Sudie “Carol” Vaughan, and Pansy Nordan; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 9, 2020, from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC and other times at the home.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Rich Square Chapel, Rich Square, NC, with Rev. Bob Rogers, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
