Edna Cotten Fleming, age 78, of Enfield, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount.
Edna was born on November 12, 1943 to the late Charlie Mabry and Ruby Carlisle Cotten in Halifax County, NC and grew up in Scotland Neck. She married Darrell Fleming on June 27, 1965 and moved to Enfield where they made their home. Edna worked as a Coordinator for ASCS of Halifax County Department of Agriculture for many years. She was a dedicated member of Enfield Baptist Church, serving as head of the kitchen committee. Edna will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Darrell Fleming and her brother, Will Wrenn Cotten.
Edna is survived by her sister, Nancy Cotten Wilson of Greensboro; her sister-in-law, Connie Denton Cotton of Scotland Neck; her nephews, Brooks Cotten and wife Blair of Scotland Neck and Mack Dee Wilson, Jr. of Greensboro; her nieces, Dana Vick and husband Rickie of Wilson, Kim Baker and husband Greg of Sims, and Leigh Plummer and husband Randall of Timmonsville, SC; and nine great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Enfield Baptist Church in Enfield. A celebration of life funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church, with Rev. Kerry Peeler and Rev. Rochele Bailey officiating. Interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery.
The family would like to offer special thanks and appreciation to the staff at Spring Arbor of Rocky Mount, Hospice and Palliative Care of Nash General, Annette Baugham, and Alma Hux for all they did for Edna.

It has been our pleasure knowing Edna; she will be missed in our community. We will remember all her family in our prayers.
I am saddened to hear about Edna. I graduated with her in the class of 1961,
and had spoken with her many times through the years. She was always so nice and polite to everyone. RIP sweet lady.
