Elizabeth Aswell Callis age 72 of Harrellsville died Friday, April 20, 2012 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital. She was born December 19, 1939 in Hertford Co. to the late Daniel Vernon Aswell and Louise Rhea Aswell. She was the wife of the late Cecil Lawrence Callis.
Mrs. Callis was a retired Hertford County Deputy Sheriff serving more than 30 years and was a member of Harrellsville Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Daniel Lawrence Callis of Harrellsville, Cecil ‘Al’ Callis and his wife Debbie of Kittrell and Sonya Callis White of Harrellsville, a sister Barbara Blowe of Erie, PA, a brother Robert Aswell of Wentworth, NC, a sister Rebecca Powell of Ahoskie, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Harrellsville Baptist Church. Rev Marcus Pond will officiate.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home.
