Elizabeth Britt Blowe, age 87, of the 700 block of Menola-St. John Rd., died Saturday August 13, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Blowe was born July 11, 1924 in Northampton County to the late Claude Britt and Bernice Johnson Britt. She was the wife of the late J. Robert Blowe. She worked for the U.S. Census Bureau, attended Menola Baptist Church and was a member of the Menola Women‚??s Club.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Bobby Blowe of Clayton and Steve Blowe of Menola, three grandchildren, Ryan Blowe of Suffolk,VA, Jessica Blowe of Menola and Jonathan Blowe and wife, Abby of Belmont, a great granddaughter Rhiyanna Lassiter of Ahoskie, a sister Claudia Marie Dixon of Greenville, three brothers Carl Britt and wife, Peggy of Milwaukee, Charles Britt and wife, Jewel of Milwaukee and James Britt and wife, Ethel of Murfreesboro.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 17 , 2011, at 12:00 PM, at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie, with the Rev. Cecil Harkey officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:00 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home, prior to services.

My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this sad time. We are never really prepared to part with someone we love and cherish but it is God’s plan for all of us. May it comfort you to know that Ms. Blowe is cradled in HIS love.
