Such a great family is a reflection on the parents. It is so difficult to say goodby to them at any age. We will always think of something we want to ask them or tell them, or share with them. Our love and prayers go out to her four children, and their families in this time of sadness and reflection.

Gail Purvis Buie has been my friend over thirty years. I have heard many sibling and mother stories and they were hilariously filled with the shenanigans of children with a mother who wanted them to behave properly and decently! I’m sure God gave her 97 years so she could live at least one half of her life in peace. And even though she did have a long life, her passing comes all too quickly for the family and friends who loved her and whom she loved in return. My prayers are with the family for safe travels to Ahoskie and a joyful family reunion because who should cry for a soul set free? Blessings on each of you, there will be precious memories as the loneliness fades.
