AULANDER, NC – Elma Rose White Blowe, affectionately known as RoRo and MaMa, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born on December 21, 1945, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to Thurman Perry White and Geneva Castelloe White. Rose was preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers Thurman Tracy White and Tommy Jordan White, as well as her great granddaughter, Layla.

Rose will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Julian; her daughter, Shelia Blowe (Marty) Davis of Ahoskie; her sons, Julian “Jay” Walker (Cathy) Blowe, Jr. of Ahoskie, and Thurman Scott (Leigh-Ann) Blowe of Ahoskie. Rose’s legacy will also live on through her five granddaughters: Kelly Gauthreaux of Ahoskie, Reagan (Joshua) Askew of Askewsville, Madison Blowe of Ahoskie, Kristin (Bubba) Barnett of Trenton, and Megan Bailey of Eure. Her two grandsons, Ryan Blowe of Ahoskie and Aaron (Brandee) Holloman of Harrellsville, will cherish the memories they shared with their MaMa. Rose was also blessed with several great-grandchildren: Liam, Addison, Aiden, Joshua, Caleb, Kaileigh, Kolbi, Cutler, Rylee, Nova, and Brevyn. She is survived by her sister, Julie Williams of Ahoskie.

Rose had a passion for camping and enjoyed being a member of the Roanoke Chowan Indian Camping Club. She found solace in gardening, working in her flowers, and enjoyed spending time on social media. However, Rose’s true joy came from being the dedicated matriarch of her family. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always showering them with love and affection. Rose’s marriage of 60 years was a testament to her commitment and devotion. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her fond memories bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
