ROXOBEL, NC – Emma Parker Bracy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 96. She was born on June 23, 1927, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to the late William A. Parker and Eva Parker Parker.

Emma was a woman of immense warmth and kindness, who dedicated her life to caring for others. She possessed a remarkable talent for cooking and could always be found in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for anyone fortunate enough to have an appetite. Emma’s generosity knew no bounds, and she never hesitated to share her culinary creations with those around her.

In addition to her culinary skills, Emma enjoyed playing cards and would often engage in friendly games with loved ones. She also found joy in being the caretaker for her family, regularly babysitting. Her gentle nature and nurturing spirit made her the go-to person for love and support in her family. Emma will always be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her loved ones and her selfless acts of kindness. She leaves behind a legacy built on love and compassion that will continue to inspire those who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Edith Barbour, and her husband Kenneth, of Maysville, NC; two sons, David Bracy and his wife Patsy, of Roxobel, NC, and Doug Bracy and his wife Agnes, of Rich Square, NC. Emma is also survived by her three cherished granddaughters, Crystal Jones and her husband Josh of Maysville, NC, Marcie Jeffries of Jacksonville, NC, and April Aycock of Halifax, NC. Additionally, she leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Mary Beth Aycock of Halifax, NC.

Emma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elias “EB” Bracy Jr., as well as her father, William A. Parker, her mother, Eva Parker Parker. A celebration of Emma’s life will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Sandy Run Baptist Church in Roxobel, NC, with Rev. David Walther officiating.
