I remember my Uncle Ernest well. He was always a kind and sweet man. He was my mom’s brother and she loved him very much. I remember when I was a child and my mom would take us over to his and my Aunt Laura’s house, he would always give us peanuts! As I got older and moved to NY, I would come to visit every year and I’d always see him selling watermelons on the corner in Ahoskie. I was able to re-connect with him in the last few years and we shared stories and smiles. I will miss him so much!
