Erva Lassiter Bradley age 78 of Ahoskie died June 27, 2011 at the Ahoskie House. She was born September 5, 1932 in Northampton County to the late Eley Lassiter and Clara Oliver Lassiter.She was the wife of the late Alvah Bradley.

She was a homemaker,a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, taught Ceramic and Cake decorating classes at Roanoke Chowan Community College and loved her flowers.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Thomas Lamm will officiate.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, a daughter Gayle Deanes and her husband Tommy of Aulander, three sons Marshall Bradley and his wife Lynn of Franklin, VA., Mike Bradley and his wife Sheila of Aulander and Kenny Bradley and his wife Andrea of Ahoskie , a sister Evelyn Bryant of Rich Square, brothers Charles Lassiter of Rich Square, Ray Lassiter of Virginia Beach, VA., and Glen Lassiter of Rich Square, twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home in Ahoskie. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer‚??s Association.

So sorry to hear of Mrs. Bradley’s passing. She was a sweet lady and have left her legacy in her children and grandchildren. All of you have my deepest sympathy.

I want to say that I’m sorry for the loss of your mother. When I was growing up in Ahoskie and would visit your family, I was always treated as one of the family. Your mother and father were very kind to the neighborhood kids. My prayers are with you. Your childhood friend.
