Miss Evelyn Jane Jenkins, age 71 died at the Three Rivers Health and Rehab Center in Windsor on Saturday, July 17, 2010. She is a native of Northampton County. Miss Jenkins resided at the Rich Square Villa for some eighteen years. She loved the Lord and enjoyed learning the Word of God. She taught herself to read at an early age and enjoyed reading and studying her bible.
Preceding her in death are her mother and father, Lillian Bryan Jenkins and Russell Gilbert Jenkins.
Survivors include two sisters; Bernice J. Umphlett of Ahoskie,North Carolina, Connie J. Robertson and her husband Carlton of Edenton,North Carolina, one brother, Gilbert B. Jenkins and his wife Brenda of Woodland, North Carolina. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
I got to know Evelyn(SUNSHINE) when I started working at her place of residency. She was such a wonderful women and was loved by many..It was nothing for her to walk up and give you a big hug…You could really feel the love and gratitude…Surely going to miss you “Sunshine”… but rejoicing knowing that you are at a better place… Bonnie
