I can’t believe I’m just seeing this! Ms. Evelyn was such a sweet lady and I visited with her every time my church went visiting on Thursdays at the nursing home. We talked a mile a minute about anything and everything, and she really had a soft spot for the sugar-free chocolate covered coconut candies I would bring. She made me feel like I was a member of her family and talked about her family constantly. COVID-19 stopped our visits to the nursing home but I always had my “besties” at the nursing home on my mind. I am so, so sorry to know she is gone. I will miss her terribly when we are able to go back and visit again. Ms. Evelyn, you were such a sweet lady and I loved you dearly. See you again sometime.
I really enjoyed knowing Sonya. When I went to Creech Memorial Church the highlight of the service was always listening to Sonya tear that piano up! She could play so beautifully & looked as though she enjoyed playing.
Glenn, Craig and families
So sorry for your loss. I remember when your Mom and Dad came to Ahoskie with the telephone company. That first day I knew I had met new friends. Always enjoyed their company. You are in my thoughs and prayers.
Rest peacefully Ms. Sonya. You will always have a special place in Vickie and my memories.

On behalf of my mother, Frances Falkner Daniel, please accept our sincerest condolences on the passing of Sonya. Mother, Jeanette, Sonya and Billy were childhood friends growing up in Henderson and have remained friends throughout the years. There are many fond memories of growing up on Church Street, being bridesmaids in each other’s weddings, celebrating births and being there for one another during times of loss. My you find comfort and peace in your own memories of Sonya. Know that we are lifting you up during this time.
