AULANDER, NC – Florence Jean Belch Farmer, age 89, of Francis Mill, passed away at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

Mrs. Farmer was born on May 26, 1932 in Colerain to the late Raleigh and Bessie Belch. She was a lifelong resident of Bertie County. At age 16, shortly after being married, she gave her life to Jesus Christ and began a 73- year mission of telling everyone that JESUS IS COMING SOON. She was a pillar and active member of Ebenezer Assembly of God for that duration where she held many teaching and leadership roles throughout the years and impacted countless lives in the name of Jesus Christ. She believed strongly in prayer and was a devoted prayer warrior. Her daily life was a testament of Jesus’ love, not just to her friends and family but to everyone she encountered. She was the epitome of what having a servant’s heart looks like; constantly lifting others up and serving others with humility, kindness, grace, and always with a smile.

Along with her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Farmer, granddaughter Carrie Farmer, and siblings, Laverne Harrell, Doris Sczepanek, Helen Payne, Raleigh F. “Junior” Belch, Lewis Belch, Auba Ray Belch, and Vernelle Jernigan.

Florence is survived by her children, Peggy Dunlow of Askewville, Christine (Thurman) Morris of Aulander, Sarah (Joe) Kirkland of Pendelton, Steve (Anne) Farmer of Aulander, Joyce (Butch) Beam of Morganton, Timmy (Betty) Farmer of Ahoskie, and Ruth (Terry) Hoggard of Windsor; 13 grandchildren; Jeff, Brian, Angel, Jason, Elaine, Amy, Steve, Betsy, Shawn, Elizabeth, Heather, Christy, and Karen, 16 great-grandchildren; Hailey, Cole, Trey, Josh, Lauren, Logan, Donna, Monica, Alex, Alexis, Megan, Chloe, Stevie, Adaline, Dallas, and Brianne, and 3 great great-grandchildren; Ally, Olivia, and Bryson.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 2, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Ahoskie, NC and other times at the home.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2021, at 11:00 am at the Ebenezer Assembly of God Church, Aulander, NC, with Rev. Tim Parker, pastor of Ebenezer Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Aulander Cemetery, Aulander. Active pallbearers will include, Jeff Dunlow, Jason Morris, Brian Dunlow, Alex Mizelle, Logan Dunlow, and Cole Dunlow, and honorary pallbearers, Chuck White, and Willie Farmer.

So sorry to see that aunt Florence has passed away. But, so glad that she has lived such a full life. I live in Georgia now and have not been in touch with my mothers side of the family as much as I would have liked. It’s been so long (1968) since my mom passed away, but I certainly have not forgotten her. She was such a wonderful mother. I just wanted to mention her as one of the Belch siblings. Margaret Noellen Belch Robertson. God Bless.

Her testimony of Jesus has so impacted my life as a Christian, and a minister of this great gospel. Sister Florence makes it into many of my sermons as a life so dedicated to Christ, and as long as I live with breath to preach for my Jesus, she will be a part of it!! Glory to God!!
