COMO, NC: Florence Myers Hoggard, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the home of her son.
Mrs. Hoggard was born on August 20, 1942 to William Edward Myers and Florence Leona Armbrust Myers in Greensburg, PA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. Florence proudly served her country as a Cryptologist in the United States Army. She was a dedicated member of Sunbeam Baptist Church in Franklin Va. She enjoyed puzzles, trivia, and video games. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. Florence was loved by her family and friends and will be deeply missed.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Earl Hoggard, Sr., a son, Sidney “Tuffy” Earl Hoggard, Jr., brother, William Edward Myers, Jr., and two sisters; Nancy Lee Emery, and Eleanor “Tooty” McLean.
Florence is survived by her children; Johnnie “Eddie” (Amanda) Hoggard Sr. of Rich Square, Cynthia “Cindy” (Donnie) Blythe of Como, and Aaron ‘A J” (Jamie) Hoggard of Conway; twelve grandchildren, Johnnie (Shannon) Hoggard Jr., Brittany (Billy) Hoggard, Sid Hoggard, Zachary (Sophie) Hoggard, Joshua (Gabby) Blythe, Chelsea (Chris) Johnson, Marissa “Bird” Lashbrook, Malaina Hoggard, Dylan Hoggard, Woody Smith, Shane Smith, Sabrina Forehand; Twelve great grandchildren, Johnnie Hoggard, III, Ryleigh Hoggard, Reagan Johnson, George Armstrong, Eli Coy, Keagen Coy, Julia Coy, Isaiah Coy, Rylan Blythe, Brysen Blythe, Payton Blythe, Carson Johnson, Addison Johnson; daughter in law, Lynn Hoggard, sister in law, Linda Myers; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square, NC.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service – Rich Square Chapel, Rich Square, NC, with Reverend Hoyle Green, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery with military honors.

Condolences to my dear friend Cindy, The Hoggard, and Blythe Families. I was honored to spend time with Ms. Flo during my recent visits. She was a sweet, sweet lady, just as I remembered her during my youth. You are in the thoughts and prayers of the Eason-Neal family.

She will be deeply missed. I remember being riveted with hearing stories of her time in service and stories of her family over the years. She may not have been my blood but she was loved and cherished as one. Thoughts and prayers to the Hoggard family.
