CONWAY, NC – Frances Bridgers Jenkins, age 91, passed away on February 13, 2021 at Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie, NC.
Mrs. Jenkins was born in Lasker, NC, on April 3, 1929, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Bridgers. Frances was a faithful member of Creeksville Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and going out with friends to eat. Frances enjoyed caring for others and received her Nurses Assistant certification so she could do what she loved.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Julian Martin Jenkins, Sr.; her sisters, Doris Ricks and Joyce Storey; and a grandson, Jonathan Jenkins.
Left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Joe Jenkins of Conway, Charles Jenkins and wife, Linda, of Hurricane, WV, Julian Martin Jenkins Jr. and wife, Bonnie, and Keith Jenkins and fiancé, Lynne Roscoe of Conway, NC; her daughter, Trudy Jenkins Dickens and husband, Mark of Halifax, NC; five grandsons, Jason Jenkins and wife, Emily of Sylva, NC, Matthew Jenkins and wife, Erin of Hurricane, WV, Christopher Buffaloe and wife, Kelly of Conway, NC, Chase Mountford of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Ray Jenkins and fiance’, Rachel Garcia of Conway; three great-granddaughters, Taylor Jenkins of Sylva, NC, Chloe Jenkins of Conway and Solstice Jenkins of Hurricane, WV; a great grandson, Ryland Jenkins of Conway, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Rich Square Chapel on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, face masks will be required, and social distancing observed.
A graveside celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at 11:00 am, in Milwaukee Cemetery, Milwaukee, NC, with Rev. Matt Ledbetter officiating.

Miss Francs was a good friend to my momma. A very sweet lady whose company I have enjoyed on many occasions. My heart warms at the thought of the reunion Miss Frances, Miss Dotsie must be having in Heaven!
MS Frances was a special friend to My Mom Dotsie Dunlow and her entire family. She was a very special person . My mom and family enjoyed spending time with Ms. Fraces, going to the dances and out to eat Pizza. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you all. We will pray for comfort for your family.
