Franklin Eason “Frank” Bullard, 76, died Thursday, April 9, 2015.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Scotland Neck. Interment will follow at the Baptist Cemetery. The Reverend Walter Byrum and the Reverend Allen Cherry will be presiding.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck.
Frank was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He graduated from East Carolina University and taught Band for 11 years in the Guilford County Public School System and 2 years in Fremont, NC. Frank loved music and played in the Tar River Swing Band and the Tar River Orchestra. He was a fixture in Scotland Neck, where he owned and operated Hancock Gas Company for 32 years. A 32 degree Mason and a member of the New Bern Scottish Rite, Frank was also a Deacon and a member of the First Baptist Church Choir for 38 years. He loved his dog, Sam, and enjoyed spending his spare time fishing.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Helen Bullard; and his brother, Malcolm Bullard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Hancock Bullard; his daughters, Susan Bullard Staton and husband Grant of Scotland Neck and Meg Bullard Billups and husband Ray of Rocky Mount; his brother, Gattis Bullard and wife Joanne of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Matthew Staton, Jessica Staton, Savanna Staton, Kaila Billups, and Kylie Grace Billups; and his beloved dog, Sam.
