Gary Wayne Dilley, Jr.

March 31, 1981 - April 30, 2024

03/31/1981 - 04/30/2024

RICH SQUARE, NC – Gary Wayne Dilley Jr., age 43, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Gary was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia and passed in Rich Square, North Carolina.

Gary is survived by his parents, Bonnie and James Futrell of Rich Square, NC. His children Madysen, Macylen, and Grayden Dilley. His sister Angela Martin and her fiancé Rick Harrell Jr. of Chesapeake, VA. In addition, his nieces and nephew; Briana, Alaina, Sierra, and Ronnie. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his close friend Stephanie.

Gary graduated from Northampton East High School in 2000. He was diagnosed in 1999 with Lebers Optic Hereditary Neuropathy and attended Governor Morehead School in Raleigh, NC for the blind. Gary worked as a roofer despite being visually impaired.

He was a true fan of the Buffalo Bills football and UNC basketball teams. He enjoyed football, hunting, fishing, listening to country music, and playing the guitar. Gary was known for his sense of humor and making people laugh. His happiest moments were spending time with his family.

A golden heart stopped beating and hard-working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us he only takes ‘the best.’ Gary will always want to be remembered with smiles and not tears.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date. We will notify friends and family and update obituary with service information once it has been determined.

We are so sorry to hear about Gary’s passing. I have very fond memories of Gary and our son Chris growing up together. He was the nicest guy and aways so polite. God bless and be with his family at this most difficult time. You all will be in our prayers.
