Gene Randolph ‘Skip’ Cale age 64 of Ahoskie died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Roanoke Chowan Hospital. He was born December 19, 1944 in Bertie County to the late George Murray Cale and Della Mary Saunders Cale.

He was a farmer, a member of Earlys Baptist Church, a member of St. John’s Hunt Club, enjoyed fishing and enjoyed the sound of hunting dogs on the run.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Ashley Memorial Chapel of Garrett-Jones Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ronald McSwain and Rev. Robert May will officiate.

Left to cherish his memory is a son Kevin R. Cale of Ahoskie, a stepdaughter Kim Bazemore and her husband Tommy of Winton, a brother Raymond Cale and his wife Ethel of Colerain, a special friend Barbara Collier and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Garrett-Jones Funeral Home.

Skip’Family & Barbara

I am so sorry to hear about Skip as I knew him.He was a friend for many years.I know the lost of a love one is never easy but if God brings you to this he will bring you through it.I pray for each of you that you will find peace in your heart as Skip has found peace with the Lord.

I would like to say that im very sorry for not being able to be at my favorite uncle’s funeral. I would have liked to have been there to celibrate his life with all of our family, and his friends. I do and always will love my uncle Skip, he will always be in my heart,and be missed very very much.
