SCOTLAND NECK, NC – George Chancellor Green III, 80, died Tuesday November 7, 2023.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday November 11 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Scotland Neck. The Reverend Brian Benton will be presiding. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:30p.m. on Friday November 10, 2023 at Garrett Sykes Funeral Service – Letchworth Chapel in Scotland Neck.
George (Buck) was born July 7, 1943 to George and Alethia Green. He graduated from Scotland Neck High School and was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church, serving on the vestry and as Jr. Warden. He served in the National Guard and worked for Export Leaf Tobacco Company for 35 years, retiring as an Area Manager. Buck was known for cooking delicious Brunswick stew and stirring the pot!
Buck is survived by his wife, Marjorie Winslow Green; daughters, Ann Green Floyd and husband John of Raleigh and Claire Green Scolnick and husband Evan of Jackson, WY; sisters, Lea Eason of Morehead City and Mary Hall Kitchin and husband Jim of Scotland Neck; brother, Tom Green and wife Susan of Scotland Neck; and grandsons, Bode and Tanner Scolnick of Jackson, WY.
The family wishes to offer their sincere gratitude to the staff of Bryan Health and Rehab for the care and love given to Buck and his family.
