CONWAY, NC – George Thomas Vann, age 92, passed away on April 6, 2020 at the Vidant Medical Center of Greenville, NC.
Mr. Vann was born in Northampton County, the son of the late Charles and Edith Woodard Vann. George enjoyed his lifetime work of tilling the soil and farming. He was a longtime member of Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Louise Harrell Vann, on March 10, 2020.
George is survived by his four daughters, Shelby V. (Nathan) Bullock, Cynthia V. (John) Springer, Georgette Vann, Amy V. Price, M.D.; and a son, George T. (Angie) Vann Jr.; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a sister Rockie Lee V. Brett.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held on Friday, April 10, 2020, at 1:00 pm at the Conway Cemetery, Conway, NC, with Rev. John Porter officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ashley’s Grove Baptist Church, 2152 Ashley’s Grove Road, Conway, NC, 27820.
