Gregory Millard Futrell, age 50, of Menola – St. John Road, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Northampton Nursing and Rehab in Jackson, NC.
Greg was born on April 10, 1972 to Greer Martin Futrell and the late Brenda Bailey Futrell in Ahoskie, NC. He suffered a long battle with cancer. Greg worked as a supervisor for 27 years at Resinall and will be deeply missed by his coworkers. He was a loving son, father, brother, and grandfather. He was always there to help others in need. He cherished his four-legged friend, Bailey. Greg was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Left to cherish Greg’s memory is his father and step-mother Sheriel, two brothers, Greer Martin “Marty” Futrell Jr. and wife Angela, and Travis Lee Futrell, both of Murfreesboro; two step-brothers, Keith Vaughan and wife Elaine; and David Vaughan and wife April, both of Murfreesboro; a son, Matthew Futrell of Franklin, VA; two daughters, Kaylan Dixon and husband Scott of Roanoke Rapids, and Caroline Futrell of Greenville, NC; and a grandson, Cole of Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service, Murfreesboro, NC and other times at the home of his father.
A celebration of life funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. at Futrell Family Cemetery, 9644 US Hwy. 258, Murfreesboro, NC, with Rev. Dr. J. Brabban officiating.
