Grover Cleveland Young, III, 63, formerly of Aulander, passed away on December 27, 2018 at the Wilson Medical Center of Wilson, NC.

Grover was born on May 2, 1955 to Joseph Jennings and Evelyn BrittonYoung in Ahoskie, NC. He was an electrician by trade and enjoyed fishing. Grover was known to have a tremendous sense of humor with a heart of gold. He was devoted to taking care of his family and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Little Young.

Grover is survived by three sisters, Brenda Young Bowen and husband Cleve of Woodland, Shelia Young Conner and husband David Ray of Woodland, and Sherry Young and husband Earl of Aulander; two sons, Grover “Bo” Cleveland Young IV and wife Kim of Cape Coral, FL, and Patrick Kelly Young and Rhonda of Wilson, NC; two granddaughters, Maegan and Kylie Young; two grandsons, Brady and Connor Young; two great-granddaughters, Noelle and Natahlee Lopaz; uncle, Carroll Young and wife Rachel of Ahoskie, aunt Donnie Carol Britton of Conway; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Garrett-Sykes Memorial Chapel, Aulander, NC, with Pastor Greg Hurdle officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

I met Grover at age 19. He was such a happy person. In 1973 we married, and had two beautiful sons, Bo and Kelly. His family was so loving, and he was a good father to his boys. May he rest in peace, and enjoy his “fishing”, in our heavenly ponds.

I went to school with Grover the 4 years I went to Aulander..We use to joke about since he was Grover the 3rd,was there three of him..My thoughts and prayers are with the family..
